A Refuge for the Faithful

Situated on the shore road of Lake Manasarovar, our family-run homestay provides a warm sanctuary for pilgrims undertaking the sacred Mount Kailash kora. We welcome travelers from across the plateau — and from every corner of the world — into our home, with beds for more than fifteen guests and a kitchen that never closes.

A Living Monastery on Your Doorstep

Just ten minutes from the homestay stands a working Tibetan monastery — its great vermillion gate crowned in gold, its walls wrapped in white and sacred red. Pilgrims circle its halls with spinning prayer wheels before and after the kora, and guests of 1376 are welcome to visit in the morning light, hear the low hum of chanting, and make a butter-lamp offering. It is a rare blessing to begin and end each day of your journey beside a place of living prayer.

Authentic Sustenance

Great-quality local food is available all day. Warm yourself with yak butter tea, hearty tsampa and handmade noodles prepared by our family in the traditional way — just as the sign promises: Tibetan food and a teahouse.

The Stove Kitchen

Fresh meals prepared over the traditional iron stove, providing deep warmth through the high-plateau cold.

Cooked by Hand, All Day

From dawn butter tea to late supper, the kitchen fires stay lit for arriving pilgrims at any hour.
